About Me

The Background

My name is Kylie Zaechelein, and I am a graduating senior at the University of California at Santa Barbara. I will be graduating in June 2018 with a Bachelor's in Arts degree as a double major in Political Science, emphasizing in American Politics, and Philosophy, emphasizing in Ethics and Public Policy, and with a minor in Professional Writing, Civic Engagement track.

My entire focus throughout undergraduate studies related to law and government, and my current path of earning a law degree widens the horizon of job opportunities within those specific fields. Individual choices, such as prioritizing certain courses, adding a double major, pursuing a civic engagement professional writing minor, and participating in internships within legal and political fields, all allowed me to practice writing in practical genres like memorandums, policy briefs, law essays, and veto messages. My vast involvement stems from my desire to be prepared for any situation I find myself in.

This upcoming Fall, I will be attending law school at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. I hope to specialize in either criminal, civil, or constitutional law, and involve myself in the legal clinic connected with the University.

New beginnings, gratefulness, and perseverance have been a theme throughout my life, inspiring me to be a voice for others. Returning back to Northern California for law school is the first step in a process to settle down and give back to the community that raised me. I hope to find internships and job opportunities within the Sacramento area in order to build a name for myself within the professional network in Northern California.

My hobbies include a variety of types of horseback riding and going on hiking or beach adventures with my Bernese Mountain Dog, Zoey.
